THE GOAL OF THE INSTITUTE

In addition to providing objective assessments in post-accident evaluations, the Institute also provides consultations to private companies for accident prevention. Examples include testing products (chairs, ladders, forklifts, machinery, etc.) and inspecting premises to ensure that they meet safety standards.

The Institute also devotes much of its time to educating the general public in areas of risk-benefit analysis as well as risk and safety communication. The Institute supports – through both financial contribution and devotion of pro-bono time – technical publications; mediation and arbitration services; and formal educational seminars.

FACILITIES

The Institute and the Laboratory occupy over 10,000 square feet of floor space at three facilities.

The Institute at 5324 Canoga Avenue

The Laboratory at 5120 Canoga Avenue
